Bree & Joel // 5th April 2015 // Country Easter Wedding
Bree and Joel were married on Easter Sunday 2015 at Bree’s mother (and partner John’s) farm.
The day prior saw torrential rain and I scouted all over Toowoomba for some gum boots but didn’t have any luck (well it was 5pm when I decided to go gum boot shopping).
Everyone had to brace themselves for muddy feet and rainky skies, but thankfully as Easter Sunday dawned the rain had stopped.
The farm had some driveway puddles but other wise faired very well.
Bree and Joel had planned a mid-day ceremony followed by lunch under the marquee.
As a photographer and mid-day being quite the nemesis, I was grateful for the layer of thick cloud that stuck around and filtered the sun. No squinting and awful shadows in these photos!
Bree and Joel’s son Hugo was made part of the ceremony which is always a special touch, and Bree was walked down the aisle by her mum.
This was a celebration with lots of friends and family and came together with everyone pitching in to give a hand.
Family members set up marquee’s, served drinks, baked cakes, cooked barbeque’s, supplied juke boxes, and styled the tables for lunch. A real team effort.
After a lovely ceremony and brief bridal portraits we were treated to a delicious lunch which included barbequed salmon, yum! And that dessert table!!!!
Only weeks prior to the day, Bree’s grandfather passed away and he was tearfully remembered during speeches. All in all the day was filled with gorgeous details, country charm and a little Easter spin for the kids. Speaking of kids… this was a family affair so my daughter was there too, and I remember finishing up the bridal portraits and as I approached the marquee some shocked guests were asking whose child was now playing in those driveway mud puddles I mentioned earlier… one guess!!
